  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, business, accounting, finance, public administration,  public policy, or related field, and 7+ years of related experience and/or training, or a Master’s degree in one of these fields and 5+ years of related experience.

State and Local Government Affairs Manager
  • B.S. or B.A. in public policy, political science, history, communications, or other related field; master’s degree in public policy or public administration a plus; as well as 5-6 years of professional experience working with government, public policy, or advocacy at the state and/or local level;
  • Extensive experience working, communicating, and building relationships with state or local policymakers, including translating complex policy materials into relevant documents or key points;
  • Familiarity with state and local legislative and executive procedure and process, including funding streams;
  • Experience working with or knowledge of the issues Urban works on is a plus;
  • Ability to prepare subject matter experts (i.e. economists, researchers) for testimony, briefings, and policymaker meetings;
