Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience with at least 4 or more years in the following areas: Just Transition, climate change, climate policy, and climate science.
• Possess one year of expertise in community and civil society engagement.
• Possess international work experience and credibility among domain experts, policymakers, and funders.
• Hold expertise in working in networked projects and teams or matrix organizations requiring diverse relationship management approaches.

The most qualified candidates for this position will possess:

• Strong project management skills in a non-profit or foundation context.
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Ability to work successfully and contribute to the team while operating in a virtual or hybrid environment.
• Experience in climate change or energy policy, just transition, and related efforts.
• Proficiency with project management tools, Microsoft suite, and salesforce/Fluxx is preferable.
• At least 7 years relevant working experience.
• University degree in a climate or environmental science, finance, technology or policy, or other relevant field.
• Some international living/working experience would be a plus.
• A willingness to travel

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience, particularly related to grantmaking, just transitions, climate, energy and economic development policy, and community and civil society engagement.
• International work experience and credibility among domain experts, policymakers, and funders.
• Experience in program or fund management, particularly early-stage implementation.
• A history of working in networked projects and teams or matrix organizations requiring diverse relationship management approaches
• Being based, or having extensive experience, in Africa or Asia is an advantage

The successful candidate should have at least ten years of relevant professional experience and excellent networks in sustainable finance, with specific experience in investment, public finance, budget management and/or fiscal policy. They should also be a strategic thinker who can consider the wider role of the financial system in climate action and have some knowledge and understanding of non-profit and advocacy eco-systems.

Specific requirements include:

• At least 10 years’ relevant professional experience and excellent networks in sustainable finance, with specific experience in investment, public finance, budget management and/or fiscal policy.
• Experience and strong interest in climate action and its intersection with the financial sector.
• Some experience with political or advocacy strategy, for example with campaigns (NGO or electoral), legislatures, government agencies, and/or cross-institutional collaboration.
• Ability to analyze, think critically and understand emerging issues and opportunities.
• Strong program and project management skills, including an ability and desire to effectively manage time, projects, budgets and teams.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly, prioritize, and multi-task.
• Excellent relationship management skills, including a natural ability to be articulate and polished in interactions with high-level groups.
• Excellent speaking, listening, and writing skills.
• Experience and comfort working in a highly collaborative and deadline-driven professional environment.

• Willingness to travel.
